NEFR’s Only All Female Rally Team to Return to the Stages with New Build

NEFR’s Only All Female Rally Team to Return to the Stages with New Build

The all female team of Amanda Skelly and Elizabeth Cordara from Noble Star Rally are scheduled to return to the 2017 New England Forest Rally with their new car. NSR driver Skelly, retired her 1998 Subaru Impreza in 2015 after a catastrophic safety concern with the old chassis. Skelly and Cordara have since returned to NEFR in a rally rental provided by Broken Motorsports of NJ last year. The girls will be representing the only all female team during this weekend's event.

While the new car will lack it's full completed potential and livery, the girls plan to unofficially debut the new build, aiming to shake the car down this weekend for its official debut later this fall.

“We have a lot to big plans for the car once we can get it through some stages and start to work out the kinks. We want a chance to get acclimated with the new build before it goes under the knife for a handful of upgrades after this weekend”, says Skelly.

Over the last 2 years Skelly and Cordara have run into various issues, which has postponed the debut and finish of the build within the time frame they had originally planned for.

“A lot of things [and unfortunately people] have lead us to make the decisions that we have, in order to get the car running and on stage in such a short amount of time. It's been a challenge to find good reliable people and a bit heartbreaking, but the journey has been so worth it to get to this point. The techs over at TurboTime have been working around the clock for the last 2 weeks to get the new build in good shape and done properly. Liz and I could not be more grateful for all they have done to get us back on stage”, adds Skelly.

TurboTime is working diligently to complete some of the final touches on the car before it can make the 900+ mile trek to Maine this week. The new car is a 1997 Subaru Impreza naturally aspirated AWD running in the Open Light class (#853). The girls will be joined by teammates Matt Peterson and Lori Clute in one of the fan's favorite’s, a 94 Honda Civic (#253).

“It's been a long time coming, and I'm really excited to see what the new car can do and to be back on stage with Amanda”, concluded Cordara.

The girls are proudly sponsored by:
