Noble Star Rally Team Provides More Grassroots Rally Support at Sno*Drift
The Noble Star Rally (NSR) team kicks-off their third season with the 2014 Sno*Drift Rally next weekend on January 24-25th in Atlanta, Michigan. Sno*Drift is the team’s home event and one of their favorites.
“I’ve been spectating since 2006 and competing since 2012,” said NSR driver Amanda Skelly. “When I first dreamt of building my rally car, I had my eyes set on debuting here at home at Sno*Drift. Originally, I had one goal – build my car, pass tech and run Sno*Drift. Now we are entering our third season and things just keep going up from here.”
The team will be joined by All Fours Rally Team from Olympia, WA with driver Agatino Fortunato and co-driver Randy Biehl. The two have already started their 2300 mile trek from Washington State to compete in this year’s event with NSR. It is a similar situation that NSR’s Amanda Skelly and crew experienced when she made the trip in the opposite direction to compete in the 2012 Olympus Rally held in Olympia, WA.
“When Agatino asked if anyone had any room for them to crash for Sno*Drift because they may be competing - I was ecstatic for them,” commented Amanda Skelly. “Attending the Olympus Rally was a fantastic experience and so many great people helped us make that dream a possibility. It was time to return the favor and do what we could to make someone else’s dream happen.”
NSR will be attacking the snow and iced covered Sno*Drift stages with the two Open Light cars. NSR will help the All Fours Rally Team by providing them with a reconnaissance vehicle, crew during service, food and a place to stay.
“We’re really excited to work with Noble Star. Amanda has been an amazing help. We have a crew, we have a place to stay. I don’t know what more we could ask for from anybody. The rally community is just an amazing community,” added Fortunato.
This season the NSR team plans to improve their rally car and focus on extracting more speed from the driver. “This year is all about opportunity,” says NSR Co-driver Derrick Rudisel. “With each event, Amanda is getting to know the car better and pushing her own boundaries. I’m excited to see her really start reaching her potential and showing the world what she’s got.”
Both teams are excited to be working together for next weekend’s rally. “That is what grassroots rally is all about. Utilizing the resources you have and helping others when you can so you can all enjoy the event. We are all here for the same reasons, because we love rally,” concludes Skelly.
